The Royal Hawaiian hotel is offering some deals for visitors and kama'aina in the next few months to tempt guests to stay at the iconic pink hotel before it closes for renovations in June.

A special for Hawai'i residents is called the "Kama'aina Romance at The Royal" package, which includes a garden-view room in the historic section of the hotel, a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, daily breakfast buffet for two at the Surf Room or room service, complimentary self parking, and late checkout at 4 p.m.

The package is offered from now to May 31, for Hawai'i residents, and is based on double occupancy with no minimum night stay required, for $230 a night. For more information or reservations, call The Royal Hawaiian at 923-7311 or visit www.royal-hawaiian.com and refer to package code "RHROM."

Another special for out-of-state visitors is called the "A Hui Hou ... Until We Meet Again" package, which includes complimentary daily breakfast buffet for two, "an elegant memento gift" and a complimentary one-night gift certificate (must be used with the purchase of two consecutive paid nights) to return to The Royal Hawaiian in 2009 to experience the post-renovation hotel.

As part of the 2008 Hawai'i Romance Festival, the hotel is working with the festival, which will bring together entertainers from Hawai'i and beyond from May 2 to 11 for a series of concerts, events and festivities.

Those invited to perform include: Jimmy Borges, Robert Cazimero, Gladys Knight, Cecilio & Kapono, Nick & Nina Clooney, Smokey Robinson, "American Idol" star Kimberley Locke, and Jake Shimabukuro.

The "A Hui Hou ... Until We Meet Again" package is available from now through May 31 and is priced at rates starting at $299 with a minimum of three nights' stay. Package code is "AHUIHOU."

The romance festival's closing concert with Boz Scaggs on May 11 will be performed under the stars in the Coconut Grove at The Royal Hawaiian hotel. Scaggs is headlining "Pink Night" to benefit the Queen's Cancer Center's fight against breast cancer, which will include dinner and a fashion show.

Tickets are $250 per person, including dinner, fashion show and concert; premium tables are available. Concert only tickets are $95.
