Surf along north shores will be 8 feet to 12 feet by this afternoon, the National Weather Service said, and surf will also build to 6 feet to 8 feet along west shores.

A new northwest swell arriving late today will likely require an advisory for north- and west-facing shores tonight through Wednesday night. The swell will subside very slowly through Sunday.

The surf will be much smaller, 1 foot to 3 feet, along south and east shores.
