Police tonight arrested an 18-year-old man for investigation of trying to extort an auto part from a man in Waimanalo.

The suspect was arrested at 6:23 p.m. at Kuhimana and Piohia streets in Waimanalo and booked for second-degree extortion, first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and fourth-degree criminal property damage.

According to police, a 20-year-old male complainant reported the suspect has been using threats of force to obtain a car part from him for about a week and was also demanding money if he did not comply.
