Hawaii Theatre showing film on 100th/442nd combat team

"Only The Brave," the award-winning motion picture about the legendary

all-volunteer, Japanese-American 100th/442nd Regimental Combat Team, will

show at 7 p.m. March 18 at the Hawaii Theatre.

Debuted in 2006 and directed by Hawaii-born playwright and actor Lane

Nishikawa, the film stars Jason Scott Lee, Mark Dacascos, Tamlyn Tomita,

Yuji Okumoto, Jeff Fahey, Guy Ecker and the late Pat Noriyuki Morita. This

moving portrait of war and prejudice was the official selection at 17 U.S.

film festivals and the recipient of the prized Audience Award at the Starz

Denver International Film Festival.

The screening is a benefit for the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii.

Tickets are $8 for center members and $10 for everyone else.
