Dry, sunny weather expected through the weekend

Mostly dry and stable air will continue across the state through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

An upper level low pressure area east of the islands may increase shower activity for the Big Island, forecasters said.

Trade winds will return temporarily statewide on Sunday. Otherwise, expect light easterlies.

Here's how the next few days look at this point:

Today: Mostly sunny in the morning then becoming partly sunny. Highs 76 to 84. East winds around 10 mph shifting to the south in the late morning and afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows 63 to 71. East winds around 10 mph early in the evening becoming light.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs 77 to 83. Southeast winds around 10 mph until mid morning becoming light.

Saturday night: Mostly clear. Lows 62 to 72. Northeast winds around 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunny. Highs 78 to 83. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear. Isolated showers after midnight. Lows 63 to 73. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
