Sunny days expected to last through the weekend

Advertiser Staff

A ridge of high pressure will persist just north of the islands through the start of the new work week, keeping winds light, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime heating over the state will result in the development of clouds and isolated showers mostly over the interior sections, forecasters said.

Nighttime cooling over the islands will bring clearing skies overnight.

The windward side of the Big Island will see more clouds at times as the light easterly winds carry moisture in from the east.

Here's how the next few days are shaping up:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 80. South wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 68. Southwest wind at 5 mph becoming north.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind around 6 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. East wind around 7 mph.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 82. East wind around 6 mph.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Northeast wind around 6 mph.
