Lane closures announced for Oahu

The state Department of Transportation has announced the following lane closures this week for O'ahu. Road construction is weather permitting.

H-1

WAIKELE TO WAIPAHU (NIGHT WORK)

Various lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in both directions from the Waikele area to the vicinity of the H-1/H-2 Merge for pavement resurfacing work at the following locations and times:

  • Eastbound Kamehameha Highway off-ramp (Exit 8A (East)) will be closed tonight through Tuesday morning, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly. Motorists are advised to use the earlier Waikele/Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 7 (East)) and surface streets such as Farrington Highway or Waipahu Street as an alternate route.

  • Westbound two lane closure on Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

  • Westbound two left lanes will be closed on Wednesday night hrough Friday morning from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly.

    H-201 MOANALUA FREEWAY

    Halawa-bound motorists on the Moanalua Freeway are advised to continue past the ramp closure, proceed onto Moanalua Road and use Kaimakani Street as an alternate route to Ulune Street and the Halawa area.

    GUARDRAIL REPAIRS

    Right lane closures at various locations on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., daily, for guardrail repairs.

    H-2 FREEWAY

    WAIAWA TO WAIPI'O

    Multiple lane closures on the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Ka Uka Boulvard off-ramp (Exit 2) on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for lane striping.

    FARRINGTON HIGHWAY

    LANE CLOSURES IN WAIALUA, NANAKULI TO MAKAHA

    Single lane closures on Farrington Highway in both directions on Monday, through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the following locations:

  • From Nanakuli to Makaha between Haleakala Avenue and Lawaia Street for various contractor permit projects including electrical pole replacements and installations of water mains, communications lines and manholes.

  • In Waialua, from Ka'ena Point to Kaukonahua Road, for lane striping and marker installations.

    KAHEKILI HIGHWAY

    LANDSCAPING PROJECT CONTINUES

    Left lane closures on Kahekili Highway between Kulukeoe Street and Ha'iku Road in both directions on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for the removal of concrete median barriers and water line adjustments.

    KALANIANA'OLE HIGHWAY

    NEAR CASTLE JUNCTION

    Right-lane closure on Kalaniana'ole Highway in the Kailua-bound direction between Castle Junction and Kapa'a Quarry Road on Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for erosion control work. Work and lane closures are scheduled at this site on weekdays through May 2008. Project contractor Prometheus Construction will be anchoring mesh safety netting to the adjacent hillside to stabilize the slope.

    KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY

    NEAR PEARL HARBOR

    Single lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in both directions from McGrew Loop to Center Drive on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for lane striping, marker installations and guardrail repairs.

    FROM MILILANI TO WHEELER AAF

    Southbound traffic on Kamehameha Highway will be contraflowed using the northbound lanes between Lehua Road and Waikalani Drive on Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m., daily.

    24-hour lane closures will also be in effect, seven-days-a-week at the following locations:

  • Right lane closure in the northbound direction between Lehua Road and Kahelu Avenue.

  • Left and right lane closures in the southbound direction between Santos Dumont Avenue and Waihau Street.

    Portable concrete barriers will be closing these lane segments for shoulder widening and curb construction.

    NEAR KUALOA REGIONAL PARK

    Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Ka'a'awa Valley Road and Johnson Road in the vicinity of the Kualoa Regional Park on Monday, March 10, through Thursday, March 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for pavement repairs.

    LIKELIKE HIGHWAY

    HONOLULU-BOUND LANE CLOSURE IN KANE'OHE AREA

    Right lane closure on Likelike Highway in the Honolulu-bound direction from Kahekili Highway to the Wilson Tunnel on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., daily, for roadside tree-trimming.

    ALA MOANA BOULEVARD

    PAVEMENT RESURFACING (NIGHT WORK)

    Multiple lane closures in both directions from Fort Street to Pi'ikoi Street on Monday night through Friday morning, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for the installation of electrical conduits and vehicle detectors, pavement reconstruction and pavement striping.

    FORT WEAVER ROAD

    NEAR AAWA DRIVE

    Single lane closures on Fort Weaver Road in both directions between Aawa Drive and Laulaunui Street on Monday through Friday at the following locations and times.

  • Intermittent single lane closures in the southbound direction between Laulaunui Street and the Honouliuli Stream Bridge from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for traffic signal conduit and irrigation line installations.

  • Intermittent right lane closure in the northbound direction from Aawa Drive to the Honouliuli Stream Bridge from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for drainage system construction.

    PUULOA ROAD

    IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT CONTINUES

    Various lane closures on Puuloa Road between Kamehameha Highway and Salt Lake Boulevard on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, at the following locations:

  • Shoulder lanes in both directions closed. Roadside parking will not be permitted.

  • Modified traffic pattern is in effect on Mokumoa Street between Puuloa Road and Mapunapuna Street for drainage work. No large vehicles are allowed through this area. One lane of travel in each direction is available for cars.
