Motorcyclist critical after Pali accident

Advertiser Staff

A 63-year-old man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition after crashing his motorcycle on the Pali Highway just after midnight today.

The accident occurred at 12:04 a.m.

Traffic investigators said the man was not wearing a helmet when he was traveling town-bound and crashed his black 2001 motorcycle .6 miles south of Kamehameha Highway. Police said the man lost control of his motorcycle, hit the guardrail and was thrown from his bike.

Speed is believed to be a factor, but it is not known if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The man is a Honolulu-area resident.
