Imua Family Services received a $2,500 grant from the Kent and Polli Smith Fund to support its Early Childhood Development Program demonstration project.

The three-year project will provide therapeutic services in the areas of speech language, occupational and physical therapy to children aged 3 through 5 who have developmental delays that are not severe enough to qualify for Department of Education services.

Program director Tracy Kealoha said the services will be provided in home, preschool and daycare settings to give young children an opportunity to thrive in kindergarten.
