John Cruz to play Bishop Museum June 19

John Cruz and The Girlas will launch the Bank of Hawai'i Moonlight Mele on the Lawn summer concert series at 7 p.m. June 19 at Bishop Museum. An incorrect location was posted in a breaking news item Monday.

Cruz is a Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning singer-composer and is well known for "Island Style," "Shine On" and "Sitting in Limbo," often played on Island radio.

The Girlas are an acoustic trio popular on the nightlife circuit here.

Additional Mele programs will be staged July 17 and Aug. 14, with performers to be named.

Tickets are $15 in advance for the public, $10 for Bishop Museum members and Bank of Hawai'i customers and employees with ID. Children 4 and under free. Admission at the door will be $20. Call 847-8290.
