The Civil Air Patrol West O'ahu Squadron will celebrate its anniversary with an open house for the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Free orientation rides in general aviation aircraft will be offered to youths 8 to 17 by the Honolulu chapter of the Young Eagles organization. A parent or guardian must be present to sign a flight release.

Various aviation-related organizations will also be on hand with displays and information about their groups. CAP Lt. Col. James McFadden will be the featured speaker.

The squadron is located at the Pacific Aerospace Training Center at 91-1259 Midway Road, part of the Kalaeloa Airport, formerly Barbers Point Naval Air Station.
