Trade winds may bring a few showers, lots of sun

A high pressure area north of the islands will keep the trade winds flowing through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

The trade wind flow will produce a few passing showers which will affect mainly windward and mauka areas, forecasters said.

Here's what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Breezy, with a east wind around 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday night: Isolated showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
