DOWNTOWN
Mission Houses Museum to be honored by House

Advertiser Staff

The state House will recognize the Mission Houses Museum on Tuesday.

The event commemorates 100 years since the Hawaii Mission Children's Society was formally set up, paving the way for the opening of the museum.

The recognition will start at noon in the state House Gallery at the Capitol.

A reception will follow.

The Mission Houses Museum, located in Downtown Honolulu, has three restored houses and a research library whose aim is to provide a glimpse into 19th-century Hawai'i.

For more information on the recognition, call 586-9419.
