An adult male surfer pulled today from waters at "Banzai Pipeline" Ehukai Beach on the North Shore died at Kahuku Hospital, said Honolulu Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

City lifeguards brought the man, 23, to shore at 3:18 p.m. and provided CPR until EMS arrived, Cheplic said.

Police have classified the case as an unattended death pending autopsy findings for cause and manner.
