Friends of a Pearl City man who fell 30 feet while hiking near the Pali Lookout two weeks ago are planning a fundraiser for him tonight.

Mark Hayes, 26, and his girlfriend, Jamie, 20, were climbing up a dry waterfall bed on March 6 when she slipped and they both fell. She was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, and is still recovering, while he suffered two broken legs.

Food, live entertainment and a raffle will be included in the fundraiser, taking place from 8 p.m. to midnight at Tsunami's at 2260 Kuhio Ave. Admission is $10. All money raised will be donated to the couple for their medical expenses.
