Chat with pianist at Design Center tonight

Pianist Jon Kimura Parker will mix music with patter when he participates in a "Piano Chat With Jon Kimura Parker," at 7 p.m. today at the Honolulu Design Center.

The event blends his piano artistry with conversation and wine, and is a co-sponsored by the Honolulu Piano Teachers Association and Chamber Music Hawai'i as part of the latter group's 25th anniversary celebration.

Tickets are $15 general and $10 for HPTA members, seniors, students and military.

Parker also headlines a gala concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Hawai'i Theatre, performing the Brahms Piano Quintet with the Galliard String Quartet and Beethoven's Quintet for Piano and Winds, with the Spring Winds Quintet. CMH's third ensemble, the Honolulu Brass, will also be featured.
