Day's best surf finally comes to Hawaii's east shores

Advertiser Staff

The surf will come up a bit today on east-facing shores but drop a bit along west- and north-facing shores, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf of 6 feet to 10 feet is expected today along east-facing shores, forecasters said.

Surf along north-facing shores is expected to be 4 feet to 6 feet today, while west-facing shores will probably see surf of 1 foot to 4 feet.

Surf along south-facing shores will remain at 1 foot to 3 feet with occasionally 4-foot sets through today.

The short-period, trade-wind swell will likely continue for several more days.
