Two Wai'anae High School Searider Productions students have picked up another first-place national honor for the school and a trip to the nation's capital next month.

Student's Laurissa Asuega and Martinea Trippett took the grand prize in the third annual Five Freedoms Public Service Announcement student video competition for their 30-second rap song, "One Right."

The students, along with their instructor, Candy Suiso, will travel to Washington, D.C., on April 11 for the grand opening of the $450 million Newseum.

The contest fielded hundreds of entries from a record number of schools around the country. In addition to the trip to Washington, Wai'anae High School will receive $1,000 for its broadcast journalism program.
