St. Mary's tops UH in softball, 4-2

Sadie Delpit hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning as St. Mary's beat 17th-ranked Hawaii, 4-2, today in the Bank of Hawaii Invitational at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Hawai'i took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Kate Robinson slugged a two-run home run to left field. The Gaels (12-13) scored a run in the third and tied the game in the sixth.

St. Mary's reliever Megan Galloway earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings, striking out two and giving up two hits.

Hawaii reliever Jessica Morton took the loss, giving up two runs on one hit with one strikeout.

The Rainbow Wahine (23-10) will face California tomorrow at 2 p.m. and Northwestern at 4 p.m. Colorado State faces Northwestern at 10 a.m. and St. Mary's will play Northwestern at noon in the other tournament games.
