The mother of a 23-month-old boy thrown to death from an H-1 Freeway overpass in January was arrested early Friday morning in Downtown Honolulu on four outstanding misdemeanor warrants totaling $3,800.

Nancy Vasa Chanco, 33, also known as Nancy Asiata and Nancy Vaasaasia Chanco, has been held at the main police station cellblock since her arrest at Bethel and Beretania streets at 4:25 a.m. Friday. She will be taken to District Court tomorrow.

Chanco listed no permanent local address at her booking.

In January, Chanco's 23-month-old son, Cyrus Belt, was killed after being thrown from an overpass. Matthew Higa was charged with second-degree murder in that case.
