Trade winds, isolated showers in Hawaii forecast

Trade winds will continue through the week, the National Weather Service said, and showers will mostly be over windward areas.

Most leeward areas will be dry, but there will be some afternoon showers over the kona slopes on the Big Island.

Today: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind between 10 and 13 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 80. East wind around 11 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 13 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. East wind between 11 and 13 mph.

Wednesday night: Isolated showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind around 13 mph.
