Advertiser Staff

A 23-year-old Kilauea man sustained serious injuries early Saturday morning near Princeville after skidding across the highway on his moped.

The man was riding a moped northbound on Kuhio Highway 560 at around 1 a.m., police said. As he approached Princeville in the vicinity of mile marker 0, he lost control of his moped and skid face first across the roadway.

The man sustained substantial facial injuries and was taken to Wilcox Hospital for treatment. He was later airlifted to The Queen's Medical Center.

The man was released from Queen's yesterday evening and is reportedly in good condition.
