Man hit on Farrington; contraflow lanes in Waianae

Advertiser Staff

Police have set up a contraflow on east-bound lanes of Farrington Highway in Wai'anae after a 53-year-old man was hit in a three-car collision at 5 a.m. today.

The man, in critical condition, was in front of his stalled vehicle when a third car hit a car behind the man's car and a chain reaction occurred at Farrington Highway at Helelua Street. The man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center, said Bryan Cheplic, Department of Emergency Services spokesman.

Police closed two east-bound lanes and one west-bound lane on Farrington Highway is being used as a contraflow for the east-bound traffic. Police will advise motorists when the lanes will return to normal.
