Hanauma Bay lecture series set for April

The Hanauma Bay Education Program partners with the Papahanaumokuakea National Marine Monument in April for a series of free Thursday night lectures.

April 3: "Whales & Dolphins of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands" by Dave Johnston, National Marine Fisheries Service;

April 10: "Bridging Traditional Knowledge and Western Science" by Mahina Duarte, Papahanaumokuakea National Marine Monument;

April 17: "Winged mariners: a century of studying seabird ecology in Papahanaumokuakea" by Beth Flint, Papahanaumokuakea National Marine Monument;

April 24: "Conservation Driven Research in Papahanaumokuakea" by Randy Kosaki, Papahanaumokuakea National Marine Monument.

All presentations run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve theater. Parking is free at Hanauma Bay after 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 397-5840.
