Robinson lifts UH past N.M. State in softball, 1-0

Kate Robinson pitched a four-hitter and drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift No. 18 Hawai'i to a 1-0 victory over New Mexico State in a Western Athletic Conference softball game today at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine (26-11) took the season-opening WAC series with the Aggies, 2 games to 1. New Mexico State is 17-22.

In the bottom of the seventh, Tanisha Milca singled to the pitcher and went to second when Kaulana Gould reached first on a fielder's choice to third base. Melissa Gonzalez reached on a throwing error by the third baseman on a sacrifice bunt, loading the bases.

Robinson then singled to shortstop driving in Milca with the winning run.

Robinson (10-4) struck out six and walked none.
