A dismasted yacht competing in the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race arrived at Ala Wai Harbor this morning, according to race officials.

The yacht — westernaustralia2011.com — was dismasted 700 miles off the coast of Japan on March 5 and crossed the Pacific under jury rig.

The race, with 10 entries, began a little over a month ago in China.

Work on the dismasted yacht and other yachts in the race has begun with parts being flown from Luxembourg.

The 35,000-mile circumnavigation is scheduled to end in Liverpool on July 5.

The restart of the race from Hawai'i to Santa Cruz, Calif., was originally scheduled for March 26. The current delay to the restart is anticipated to between April 3 and 5.
