Robinson leads Rainbow Wahine to sweep of LaTech

Hawai'i senior Kate Robinson hit two home runs in the first game and got the victory in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Louisiana Tech.

Kate Robinson hit two home runs to lead No. 17 Hawai'i to a 4-1 victory over Louisiana Tech in a Western Athletic Conference softball doubleheader sweep today at Ruston, La.

Robinson, a senior, pitched the Rainbow Wahine to a 6-4 victory in the second game.

UH is 28-11 overall and 4-1 in the WAC. LaTech is 18-19 and 1-4.

In the first game, Robinson hit her 13th and 14th home runs of the season off of Tech starter Krissi Oliver. Oliver entered the game having surrendered just one home run all season.

Robinson hit a bases-empty shot in the top of the third to give Hawaii a 1-0 lead and hit a two-run shot in the top of the sixth for a 3-1 lead.

Courtney Baughman allowed six hits, struck out four and walked one in five innings o earn the victory. Jessica Morton pitched two scoreless innings to earn the save.

In the second game, Hawai'i scored four unearned runs in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead.

The Rainbow Wahine took a 6-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning scoring two runs on four hits.

Tanisha Milca and Audrey Andrade each had two hits and two RBIs for the Rainbow Wahine.

Robinson spaced four hits, striking out six and walking one.
