Resurfacing projects under way on Kauai

The State Department of Transportation has announced the following road work on Kauai.

KUHIO HIGHWAY

PAVEMENT RESURFACING

Lane closures in both directions between Hui Road (near Mile Point 15) and Koolau Road (near Mile Point 20) through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing.

Motorists are advised to expect intermittent delays of no more than fifteen minutes and to allow for extra travel time. Completion of this project is anticipated in May 2008.

INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC DELAYS NEAR WAINIHA BRIDGES

Intermittent traffic delays in both directions near the Wainiha Bridges hrough Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for bridge installation and pavement surfacing work.

Brief delays of no more than fifteen minutes at a time should be expected as heavy construction equipment is repositioned onsite.

Completion of this project is anticipated in April 2008.

KAUMUALII HIGHWAY

INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC DELAYS NEAR RICE STREET

Possible traffic delays on Kaumualii Highway in both directions near the Rice Street intersection through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.

Crews will be working on a slope stabilization project on the hillside adjacent to the highway. Intermittent delays of no more than fifteen minutes may be expected as heavy equipment is positioned during construction activities.

KUAMOO ROAD

GUARDRAIL, SHOULDER IMPROVEMENTS

Lane closures on Kuamoo Road in both directions at various locations through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

Intermittent delays of no more than fifteen minutes may be expected as heavy equipment is positioned during construction activities.
