Fate unclear for Isle Disney Store

Advertiser Staff

A spokesman for Walt Disney Co. said it was not yet known if the Disney Store at Ala Moana Center would be closed as part of a plan to shutter more than 100 Disney Stores across the country.

The 322 Disney Stores are operated by a subsidiary of the The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc, which has filed for bankruptcy.

The Children's Place last week said it plans to return more than 200 stores to the Walt Disney Co. by May if its restructuring plan is accepted by a bankruptcy judge.

The remaining 100-plus Disney Stores in North America would be closed, said Chuck Crovitz, interim chief executive officer of The Children's Place.
