ALA WAI CLEANUP — Join Sierra Club for Ala Wai Boat Harbor cleanup April 5. Meet at 8 a.m. at harbormaster's office. Bring sturdy closed-toe shoes, hat, thick rubber gloves, sunscreen, water. Call Deborah Blair at 955-4168.

KAUA'I GARDEN DOCENTS — The National Tropical Botanical Garden will provide free docent training for its southshore site from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning April 30 through June 18. Docents lead garden tours and receive training in botany, propagation, conservation, nursery management, customer service. Annual commitment of 72 volunteer hours required. Deadline to apply is April 9. Applications available online at www.volunteer.ntbg.org or at NTBG headquarters, 3530 Papalina Road, Kalaheo.

MOKAUEA ISLAND PROJECT — Volunteers needed April 19 to help Kai Makana and Mokauea Fishing Village Association create educational center.
