Fair weather expected to last through the weekend

The trade winds, fueled by a high pressure area north of the state, are expected to last through the weekend and into the start of the new week, the National Weather Service said.

Showers will favor windward and mauka areas.

An upper level low pressure area is expected to develop west of the island chain early next week and destabilize the air mass, leading to greater shower coverage and intensity, according to the forecast.

Today...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 87. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Friday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 80 to 87. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Friday Night...Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 67 to 74. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Saturday...Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 86. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
