HARA group seeking 'Aloha Is' nominees

Advertiser Staff

The Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts, producers of the annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, is searching for nominees for the sixth annual "Aloha Is" award, inspired by the late Moe Keale's song.

"Aloha Is" is akin to a humanitarian award, acknowledging an entertainer's role in working for the betterment of the community through service, leadership and inspiration. The prize includes a $1,000 check donated by the Bill Keale Lu'au in Bend, Ore., and a custom-made Kamaka 'Ukulele.

Names of nominees, supported by an explanation of why he or she is a worthy "Aloha Is" winner, may be e-maailed to either Carol Keale (ckeale1@msn.com) or Jacqueline Rossett (HNLSkylark@aol.com), or call 227-4400.
