NANAKULI
Aiona will congratulate school robotics team

Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona Jr. will pay a visit to Nanakuli High and Intermediate School tomorrow.

Aiona is going there to congratulate the school's robotics team for its showing at the FIRST in Hawai'i Regional Robotics Competition, which concluded March 29.

Out of 37 teams from the Mainland and Hawai'i, the rookie Nanakuli team placed third in the competition at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

"He is going to speak to the robotics team and congratulate them," said vice principal Flora Nash, who said Aiona has a special bond with Nanakuli because it was the kick- off school for his Aloha Card campaign.

"What he saw the kids demonstrate in the competition was a lot of what is aloha — working together, being humble and responsible, working together and being committed."
