Sunset in Kalihi serves up full plate of family fun, films

Sunset in Kalihi, themed "The Heart of Honolulu" and full of food, keiki inflatable rides, games, entertainment and movies, is happening from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and tomorrow at Kalakaua District Park.

Today's movie is "Ratatouille," the animated tale of a rat who longs to be a gourmet chef; tomorrow's is "Transformers," the sci-fi thriller. They hit the big screen at 7:30 p.m.

Among the entertainers: The Royal Hawaiian Band, Simplicity, Farrington High School football team, Ilona, Beach 5, One Drop and Isouljahs.

There's a basketball tournament/shootout from noon to 3 pm. today, too.

Admission is free.
