Island Pacific Academy's Matthew Westmoreland and Punahou's Kristin Lim are the top boys and girls seeds for thisweek's Hawai'i High School Athletic Association state tennis championships.

Westmoreland is the Interscholastic League of Honolulu boys singles champion for Island Pacific, a four-year-old school in Kapolei with students in grades pre-kindergarten through 10.

Lim, the ILH girls singles champion, is also the defending state girls champion. In 2006, she won the state girls doubles title with Ashley Ohira. Ohira and teammate Ashley Nakaoka, the ILH girls doubles and defending state champions, are seeded first in doubles.

Punahou's Alex Ching and Erik Shoji, the ILH boys doubles and defending state champions, are seeded first in doubles. Ching won the 2006 state doubles title with Jon Wong.

The tournament is scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday at the Holua Tennis Center and Outrigger Keauhou Resort on the Big Island.

Punahou has won the boys team title since 1991 while the Buffanblu girls have won the state ttle since 2003.
