Man, 23, charged in child sex tryst

Honolulu police yesterday charged a 23-year-old 'Ewa man with using the Internet to arrange to have sex with two 13-year-old girls.

Eric Shiroma was arrested Wednesday after he went to allegedly meet the girls and was intercepted by officers, police said.

Shiroma was charged yesterday with first- and second-degree electronic enticement of a child, promoting child abuse, possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN 2006 ASSAULT

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a two-year-old assault case stemming from an argument over a puppy.

Police said a 24-year-old man suffered a broken jaw in the Nov. 16, 2006, assault in Waimanalo, but the other man was never arrested.

On Thursday, when the suspect returned to the Waimanalo home where the argument occurred, family members called police, who discovered the old case, police said.

KIDS FIND SKULL AT KUALOA BEACH

Honolulu police said yesterday they are investigating the discovery of human remains buried in the sand at Kualoa Beach Park.

Children digging in the sand discovered a skull about 2:30 p.m., according to Kane'ohe police.

It was not immediately known how old the skull is.
