Ala Moana improvements continue in Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists of single-lane closures on Ala Moana Boulevard in both directions between Kalakaua Avenue and Kalia Road through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for traffic signal system installations, tree relocations, and driveway, sidewalk, curb and gutter construction.

This improvements project will include pavement reconstruction and resurfacing, the addition of a fourth eastbound lane from Hobron Lane to Kalia Road, the lengthening of left-turn stacking lanes onto Hobron Lane and Kalia Road, center median landscaping enhancements designed in consultation with the Outdoor Circle, replacement of highway lighting with decorative lighting similar to Kalakaua Avenue, and the reconstruction of portions of pedestrian sidewalks and driveways.
