Meeting tomorrow on new school boundaries in Ewa Beach

Advertiser Staff

A meeting to discuss new attendance areas for 'Ewa Beach Elementary School and Keone'ula Elementary School beginning with the 2008-09 school year will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Keone'ula Elementary cafeteria.

Parents, staff and the community are invited. A public meeting on the topic in March drew strong reaction.

According to information presented at that meeting, shifting some students from Keone'ula Elementary to 'Ewa Beach Elementary would alleviate overcrowding at Keone'ula. Meanwhile, 'Ewa Beach Elementary is well under its student capacity.

The final plan would affect not just students living in the Ocean Pointe subdivision, but those living in Ewa by Gentry neighborhoods on the west of Fort Weaver Road.
