Repair project to close H-1 airport viaduct lanes

Advertiser Staff

Starting today, crews will close three lanes nightly on the H-1 Freeway airport viaduct to repair potholes.

The work will run from the H-1 airport on-ramp to the Middle Street Tunnel, from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tonight, the three rightmost lanes in the eastbound direction will be closed. Tomorrow through Thursday, the three leftmost lanes in the eastbound direction will be closed.

The work is part of a $9.1 million project to repair potholes along a three-mile stretch of the H-1 Freeway viaduct between Middle and Valkenburgh streets.

To minimize vibrations in the work area while the concrete cures, the speed limit in the work area will be 15 mph. Special-duty police officers will be in the area to enforce the speed limit.
