Philippines game show 'Wowowee' to audition here

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Writer

Auditions for "Wowowee," the No. 1 game show in the Philippines — and described as the equivalent to "Deal or No Deal" — will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Aloha Stadium.

A crowd of 20,000 is anticipated to turn out for the game show, which is touring the U.S., with a stop in Hawai'i. The largest throng assembled to date was 17,000, at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Bigatin Productions and McDonald's of Hawai'i are presenting "Wowowee" here. Coupons offering 20 percent discount on tickets (available at www.ticketmaster.com) are being distributed at all McDonald's restaurants; a purchase is not required.

More than a dozen celebrities from the Philippines, including game show host Willie Revillame and co-hosts Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Precious Lara Quigaman, Pokwang and RR Enriquez as well as the Wowowee Dancers.

Local performers Jordan Segundo and Angeli Callo will also participate in the game show, destined to be broadcast on ABS-CBN
