PCL HAWAII

The PCL family of companies has appointed Wayne Melnyk vice president of PCL Construction Services Inc. Wayne has been the district manager for PCL Hawaii since 2005.

PBR HAWAII

PBR HAWAII, a planning and landscape architectural firm, has promoted Dacheng Dong from senior planner/GIS analyst to associate.

CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK

Central Pacific Bank has hired:

Andrew Ishii as vice president and manager of the Credit & Risk Group. Ishii manages the bank's loan review department and monitors the credit quality and credit management of the bank. Prior to joining the bank, Ishii worked as a senior risk analyst at GE Commercial Finance Business Property Corporation.

Robert Yee as vice president and commercial branch hub manager of Central Pacific Bank. Yee oversees the Kaimuki, Kapahulu and Mo'ili'ili hub branches in the East O'ahu region of Central Pacific Bank's Community Banking Division. Prior to joining the bank, Yee worked at Bank of Hawaii for 19 years, primarily in branch banking.

Ashumi Lee as assistant vice president and branch manager II of Central Pacific Bank's Ward Branch. Prior to joining the bank, Lee served as community office manager, assistant vice president of Sandy Spring Bank in Silver Spring, Md.

ST. FRANCIS RESIDENTIAL CARE

St. Francis Residential Care Community, a subsidiary of St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, has appointed Jacob Silva as program director of Stay Healthy at Home, a new program designed to enable older adults to maintain their health and independence at home for as long as possible.

CHARLES SCHWAB & CO.

Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. has appointed Tim Davis and Mark Imada as new financial consultants at its Honolulu branch.

ALOHA PACIFIC FEDERAL CREDIT UNION

Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union has appointed Gwen Inouye as its newest financial adviser with Kalabash Financial.

YMCA OF HONOLULU

The YMCA of Honolulu has announced the new members of its management team:

Jean Riederer, appointed vice president and executive director of the Nuuanu YMCA. She has been working for the YMCA for 25 years in nine different YMCA associations across the country.

Kadi Tarlecky, appointed executive director at the Central YMCA. Before joining the YMCA of Honolulu, she was a branch executive director for the YMCA of Central Maryland.

Noa Hussey, promoted to program executive at the Kaimuki-Wai'alae YMCA.

Troy Tomita, promoted to associate director of the Central YMCA.

Sheridan Parsons, named director of philanthropy.

AIG HAWAII

AIG Hawaii recently announced several promotions at its subsidiaries:

Neal Kunde has been promoted to executive vice president and director of American Pacific Insurance Co. Previously he was vice president and director of APIC and executive in underwriting for HH America Insurance Co. of Hawaii.

Raymond "Buzz" Joao was promoted to executive vice president and director of Hawaii Insurance Consultants. Joao rejoined AIG in 2003 after serving as vice president at Island Insurance.

Craig Matsuda has been promoted to vice president of AIG Hawaii Technologies and AIG Hawaii Pacific Technologies. Matsuda joined AIG Hawaii in 1990 as an assistant accounting manager.

OCEAN NETWORK

Actress and former managing editor of Talk Story magazine Mericia Palma has accepted an account executive position with the Ocean Network.

RETINA INSTITUTE OF HAWAI'I

The Retina Institute of Hawai'i has welcomed Dr. Philip Scharper Jr. to its practice. Specializing in diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, including diabetic retinopathy, macular holes and pucker, retinal detachments and macular degeneration, Scharper is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon. Most recently, he served as a vitreoretinal surgeon at Omni Eye Specialists, a thriving practice in Baltimore.
