Weather: Scattered showers to continue into next week

A high pressure area to the north of the state will keep the trade winds blowing at a steady pace through early next week, the National Weather Service said.

Showers will affect mainly the windward areas of most islands except for a few afternoon buildups over the leeward side of the Big Island, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at the next few days on O'ahu:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind between 14 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
