A pumper apparatus assigned to the Aikahi Fire Station and four other new vehicles will be blessed Friday at the Honolulu Fire Department's headquarters building, 636 South St., in Kaka'ako.

Aikahi's new addition is a 2007 Pierce Quantum pumper, HFD spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said.

The other additions to HFD's Fire Operations fleet include a 2007 Ford F350 extended cab pickup truck, which will serve as a support vehicle, and three 2008 Ford Expeditions assigned as response vehicles.

The blessing will be performed by Kahu Curt Kehuna.
