Exhibit's asst. curator to teach UH course

University of Hawai'i at Manoa Outreach College is offering "Buddhist Cultures of the Himalayas," with John Johnston, the assistant curator of Honolulu Academy of Arts' exhibition, "The Dragon's Gift: The Sacred Arts of Bhutan."

Johnston helped locate and select works, negoted their loan with the Bhutanese government, and researched, wrotoe and edited the catalog. He's co-founder and co-editor of Buddhist Art News.

The 6 p.m. class meets Monday and Wednesday beginning June 2 at UH's Pacific Ocean Science & Technology building, room 127.

Cost: $75.
