Advertiser Staff

A tree falling on power lines today knocked out power for about 75 minutes to 4,000 Hawaii Electric Light Co. customers in South Kona.

The outage was reported at 4:55 p.m. and power was restored to all customers at 6:12 p.m., said HELCO official Kevin Waltjen.

The outage affected customers from Holualoa to Honaunau, according to Waltjen.
