An electrical outage left more than three dozen Kapiolani Boulevard customers, including The Honolulu Advertiser, in the dark for about an hour earlier this morning.

Hawaiian Electric Company spokesman Darren Pai said service was lost at 2:27 a.m. and restored to all of the 38 customers by 3:41 a.m.

The loss of service was attributed to a problem with an underground cable in the area, Pai said.
