Hawai'i's Michelle Wie shot an even-par 71 in the second round today missed the cut at the LPGA's Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill Resort & Spa's River Course in Williamsburg, Va.

Wie was at 4-over 146 overall with the cut at even par 142. Annika Sorenstam shot a 66 today for a 12-under 130 and a three-stroke lead over Jeong Jang (66) and Lorena Ochoa (68).

"I just feel really rusty," Wie said after making a birdie on the final hole to finish even on the day. "I feel like I just need to play more. ... I feel like I can get it back."

Starting on the back nine, Wie made birdies on Nos. 12, 16 and 18 and bogeys on Nos. 10 and 14 to make the turn at 1-under 34. On the front nine, she bogeyed Nos. 2, 4 and 8 and birdied Nos. 6 and 9. All of her birdies today came on par-4s.

It was a big improvement over her first round where she had five bogeys and only one birdie.

Wie, a freshman at Stanford, was making her second LPGA Tour appearance this season. She played in the Fields Open in Hawai'i, where she made the cut but finished in a tie for last, 20 strokes off the pace.

Wie struggled while she tried to play through injuries to both wrists last year. She missed the cut or withdrew from five LPGA Tour events, and finished near the bottom at two other events.
