Isle high school bench press event May 24

 •  No babysitter needed for fitness, fellowship

The 6th Annual Hawai'i High School Bench Press Contest and Mr. High School and Miss High School Body Building and Physique Championships will be May 24 at the Ward Warehouse stage.

There are no entry fees for the contests. The bench contests will start at 10 a.m. with the body building contests to follow.

All entrants must bring their school student identification and must weigh in. Weigh-ins will be May 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Ward Warehouse stage. For more information, competitors can call Olomana School at 266-7870 and leave a message for Daniel Suzuki.

VOLLEYBALL

ALL-AMERICANS APPEAR

Extreme Fitness Club will have a volleyball clinic for girls ages 13 to 18 featuring former Olympians.

The clinic will run June 2 to 4 at McKinley High School gym from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $100 if registered before May 15 and $125 after.

Deitre Collins Parker, a former All-American at the University of Hawai'i and a former U.S. Olympic team member; Tara Cross Battle, a former All-American at Long Beach State and former U.S. Olympic team member; and Ruth Lawanson, also a former U.S. Olympic team member, will be at the clinic.

FOOTBALL

NFL OFFICIALS AT CLINIC

The Football Officials Aloha Clinic, featuring NFL officials Tony Corrente and Carl Cheffers, will be July 5 and 6.

The clinic is open to all officials, including those who aspire to officiate football games.

On July 5, the clinic will be at the University of Hawai'i athletic department conference room. On July 6, the clinic shifts to Aloha Stadium, where officials will work games.

Cost is $35 if registered before May 15. After May 15, the cost is $55. Shirts are also available for purchase at $25.

YOUTH TITLES ON LINE

The Big Boyz Championship Bowl games will be held tomorrow at La'ie field.

The Westside Hawaiian Warriors of Wai'anae will take on the La'ie Raiders of Kahuku at noon in the title game for kids ages 12 to 15 and up to 350 pounds.

In the elementary division for kids ages 9 to 12 and up to 250 pounds, the Westside Hawaiian Warriors will take on the Halawa Trinity of 'Aiea at 10 a.m. Admission to both games is free.

LACROSSE

GAMES AT ALOHA

The Aloha Youth Lacrosse Association will hold its final games of the season on May 18 at Aloha Stadium.

9:30 a.m.—Honolulu A vs. Honolulu B (high school division)

12:30 p.m.—Coaches select high school boys

2 p.m.—High school girls

3 p.m.—Girls and boys bantam

4 p.m.—Boys seventh- and eighth-grade game

SWIMMING

MASTERS AT CORP

The Hawai'i International Masters Swim Meet will be June 22 at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center at the Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.

The pool will be open for warmups at 8 a.m., with the meet scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

The meet is open to registered U.S. Masters Swimming swimmers who will be 18 or older as of Dec. 31, 2008.

The entry deadline is June 15.
