Punahou sweeps state tennis team titles; Kristin Lim repeats as singles champ

Punahou won the girls singles and boys and girls doubles titles en route to a sweep of the team championships at the Carlsmith Ball/Hawai'i High School Association State Tennis Championships today at Holua Tennis Center on the Big Island.

Kristin Lim of Punahou won her second consecutive girls singles title. The Buffanblu's Shaun Chow and Brett Katayama won the boys doubles, while Ashley Ohira and Ashley Nakaoka won the girls doubles. Fernando Aguirre Gomez Corta of St. Joseph won the boys singles.

Ohira won her third doubles title in a row with her third different partner.

Punahou won the boys title with 23 points, followed by Pearl City (11) and 'Iolani and St. Joseph (8 each). The Buffanblu scored 28 points to win the girls title. Mililani was second with 9 points, followed by a three-way tie for third between Kealakehe, Lahainaluna and Sacred Hearts.
