Louisiana Tech wins WAC softball; 3 'Bows named to all-tournament team

Krissi Oliver hit a home run to left-center field to open the top of the seventh inning to give Louisiana Tech a 2-1 victory over Nevada to win its first Western Athletic Conference tournament today at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Lady Techsters (35-27) receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Louisiana Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth on Regan Clark's sacrifice fly to center field that scored Emma Barnes.

Nevada tied it on Michelle Beach's sacrifice fly to left field that scored Sarah Hunt.

Oliver was named the tournament's most valuable player.

Hawai'i's Kate Robinson, Audrey Andrade and Richie-Anne Titcomb were named to the all-tournament team.

Nevada beat the Rainbow Wahine last night, 2-1, to advance to the championship game.
